Junk Peter Popoff Sent Me: Part 2

We continue on in our look at miracle-money-making-trinkets that have been sent to me by the Rev. Peter Popoff over the years.  You can read the part 1 here – giving some background about my interest in Peter Popoff’s antics.  For now, let’s get right into it.  What miracle oddities do we have this week?  (Remember, all quotes are taken directly from his mailings.)

Miraculous Lion’s Eye: Tools to Slay Your Giant

Peter Popoff

“…As you use this anointed stone you will overcome your enemies…Now, here is what you must do to prepare yourself…Purify your hands with soap and warm water.  For seven seconds rub the lion’s eye anointed gemstone just above where your heart is.  It will then be charged with your spirit and anointing.  Immediately place your lion’s eye gemstone on your forehead for seven seconds.  I believe immediately you’ll feel waves of anointing running through you…God has directed me to ask you in Jesus’ name to sacrifice a “Miraculous Power of the Seven” seed of $19.00.  I know it will be a sacrifice but God is going to honor it.”

Miracle Manna Loaf

peter popoff

“This Miracle Manna Loaf contains the ingredients oulined in Ezekiel 4:9.  When these ingredients are combined together an amazing process takes place: a truly divine food is the result!… According to 1 Kings 19:6-8 fill a glass with water until it overflows…Just before you go to bed tonight, break off three small pieces of the Miracle Manna and eat them slowly one at a time.  After you eat each piece take a sip of water from the glass and say, “In the Name of Jesus.”  Take the Miracle Manna that’s left over and put it next to your bed along with the remaining cup of water.  I believe God will send angels to trouble the water as you sleep” [note, the Ezekiel passage says that the bread Ezekiel made had wheat, barley, lentils, beans, millet and smelt.  Peter Popoff's bread has wheat, barley, rye, soy, yeast, guar gum, and calcium propionate; he must be using a different translation...]

Silver and Gold Bracelet

Peter Popoff

“I must have the “Silver and Gold Bracelet” back…because God told me to believe for your Silver and Gold Blessings…it’s our contact and as I hold it God will give me a prophetic word for you.  Wear it on your right wrist tonight only…do not…I repeat do not keep this letter in your home over 5 days…You must fold your seed gift and your silver and gold bracelet inside this letter and get it back to me…”

To me it’s sad that Peter Popoff has subverted the relationship that God offers his children with a series of cheap magic tricks and incantations used to lure God’s favor.  From wearing a cheap bracelet, to eating stale bread, to putting a rock on your heart and forehead for seven seconds.  Is God wooed by these tricks?  Isn’t Christ’s work and God’s gift mocked by these rituals?  God calls us to know him and enter into a relationship with Him.  Sadly, there is more to come… I have a box full.

I just wanted to write you to let you know I completely agree with you on this subject. I watched the commercial tonight. I knew there was a scam in behind this “Mircale Manna”. I knew it had to be money as well. It puts me in the mind of that church that would always send me stuff like prophecy letters and told me not to open it until I have my seed back in the mail to them. I think it is pathetic how people can use God as their way to get rich quick. Taking advantage of people who really need a touch from God. Mike Murdock is another one that I had been praying for. If you think this Peter guy is bad you should listen to Mike sometime. Sow your $1000 seed into the kingdom of heaven and God will give you a new car, home, more money….etc.
Just wanted to write you and let you know you should keep informing people of these scams by whatever means it takes.

I couldn’t agree more. A scam is an understatement, i literally just watched the awful commercial showing him pushing people in the head and advertising the stale bread and false hope. Although it does appear to be inspiring, it is completely and utterly mocking the Christian religion, if hell exists, expect to see him there. while religion is undoubtedly good for society, this truly defines the negative impact it can have when put in the wrong hands.
